Motorcycle ABS

The modular and scalable motorcycle ABS (Antilock Braking System) was especially designed for the braking characteristics of two-wheelers and can be adapted to a wide range of models from small bikes to high-performance bikes. It supports the rider while braking, even in case of hard braking or on slippery roads. It prevents wheel lockup, ensures vehicle stability and optimal deceleration while braking. Motorcycle ABS therefore contributes to reducing the risk of falling and to shortening the stopping distance.

Motorcycle ABS hydraulic unit

The motorcycle ABS hydraulic unit with attached control unit constantly monitors the rotational speed of wheels using wheel-speed sensors. It prevents the front-wheel’s lockup and ensures vehicle stability. If a wheel is at risk of locking, ABS regulates braking pressure accordingly.

  • The wheel-speed sensors detect the rotational speed of wheels by using a non-contacting measurement principle.

Operation principle

Speed sensors at front and rear wheels register the rotational speed. If a wheel is at risk of locking due to intense braking or slippery road conditions, the motorcycle ABS unit reduces the braking pressure, applied by the rider and controls the wheel speed as well as the vehicle deceleration. Thereby it keeps riding stability, even on varying surfaces.

Motorcycle ABS 10 light is a smaller and lighter 1-channel ABS for front wheel which is especially designed for emerging markets.

Motorcycle ABS 10 light is designed to meet the box volume and weight requirement for small two-wheelers: size reduced by up to 45% and weight by up to 30% compared to the previous generation. It offers a full antilock protection, even in case of hard braking or on slippery roads.

Motorcycle ABS 10 base is a smaller and lighter ABS which is especially designed for emerging markets.

This ABS is suitable for all two-wheelers with hydraulic front and rear wheel brakes. It offers a full antilock protection, even in case of hard braking or on slippery roads.
